How does my fundraising contribute to Canteen?
Canteen Aotearoa is the only national charity dedicated to supporting rangatahi aged 12-24 impacted by cancer, whether through their own diagnosis, cancer in their whānau, or grief and loss.
Canteen receives no direct government funding, so we rely entirely on the generosity of our community to fund our vital support services.

What assistance can Canteen provide me at an event?
We take these questions on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out by email at fundraising@canteen.org.nz if you are a school or corporation/business organising a fundraising event so we can see if we have someone available to be there on behalf of Canteen. Otherwise, please visit our resource page for digital assets and our guide. Canteen cannot provide on the ground support for fundraising events.
How can I collect donations for my fundraising event?
All fundraising efforts driven through our Peer-2-Peer platform, Funraisin, will automatically be collected and deposited into our bank account. If you are organising an event where cash will be collected or you would like to utilise our QR Code payment system, please contact us by email at fundraising@canteen.org.nz so that we can set you up with an account in our system and give you the proper banking information for deposits. Please note, any donations collected that are cash will not be receipted.
Are donations tax deductible?
Any donations over $5.00 to your fundraising event are tax deductible. If you set up a fundraising page, an automatic receipt will be provided after payment is approved. We cannot guarantee a receipt will automatically be sent from any other fundraising platform.
How do I organise selling bandannas?
Contact us directly by emailing fundraising@canteen.org.nz and let us know where you’ll be selling bandannas, when, and how many. We’ll organise how best to get you what you need to sell bandannas.
Please note, we reserve the right to decline an individual selling our bandannas if we feel the event does not align with Canteens values.

I have a question, how can I get in touch?
The easiest way to get a hold of someone in the fundraising team is to email fundraising@canteen.org.nz. We endeavour to answer all emails within a 24-hour timeframe, except on weekends.
