Our community has made a

BIG DIFFERENCE

Whether you bought a bandanna, donated, fundraised, or simply shared the cause, every small action added up to something big.

Toghether, this Bandanna Day, we’ve raised enough to provide...

OVER 2,000

including counselling sessions, Youth Worker check-ins, and urgent support calls.

MORE THAN 60

peer support events where rangatahi can open up and connect over the tough stuff.

WHY GO RED?

Cancer can be incredibly isolating, especially for rangatahi. Whether dealing with their own diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or grieving someone they’ve lost, the emotional and social toll is huge.

Canteen is the only national charity in Aotearoa dedicated to providing free, specialised support for rangatahi impacted by cancer, but we receive no direct government funding. Every bandanna, fundraiser, donation and every act of support helps ensure rangatahi don’t face cancer alone.

23,000 WHOPPERS

Aotearoa showed up with an appetite for good this Bandanna Day!

From 28 May to 3 June, our sponsors Burget King turned every WHOPPER into something even more powerful! For every WHOPPER sold, they donated $1 to Canteen in support of Bandanna Day.

The result? 23,175 Whoppers = $23,175 raised to ensure rangatahi never have to face cancer alone.

Ngā mahi Burger King.

GONE IN A FLASH!

Our epic collab with Viva La Dirt League was a massive hit! 1,400 exclusive bandannas snapped up by fans who wanted to do good and get their hands on something truly special.

Designed by VLDL just for Canteen, this one-of-a-kind bandanna brought their legendary style to life.

We're so pleased that our supporters get to keep their one-of-a-kind bandanna as a lasting reminder of the difference they've made.

SUPPORTING RANGATAHI LIKE ELLA

"At first, opening up about my feelings felt confronting. Telling someone else what I was going through made it feel more real. But in that first session with my counsellor at Canteen, something shifted. I finally felt heard. I finally felt like maybe I was going to be okay.”

Ella is just one of hundreds of rangatahi supported by Canteen each year. Support from Bandanna Day helps make this possible.

YOUR IMPACT

SMALL ACTIONS, BIG CHANGE

Bandanna Day is about more than wearing a bandanna, it’s about making a difference in the lives of rangatahi impacted by cancer.

Every year, 4,200 rangatahi in Aotearoa are impacted, and Canteen is here to make sure they don’t face it alone. With no direct government funding, we rely on people like you.

Your support, whether you buy a bandanna, donate, or fundraise, helps provide free, life-changing support like counselling and peer connection.
